Sustain our work

Funding for our work at Tipping Point North South comes from grant-makers, major donors and individual donors – either one off or regular givers. All are equally important to our work.

Regular givers sustain our core work, major donors sustain our staff costs, our research, our participation at major events where we present our work.

All our activities – campaigns, events, films – have always sought to tackle important, political and often tough issues. This, in addition to our own ethical funding standards, can limit our sources of funding, especially in times of austerity.

In 2021, the combination of COVID19 and the ever-deepening climate crisis prompted us to shift the balance of our work from films and event to advocacy and campaigning. We took the decision to prioritise our Transform Defence for Sustainable Human Safety project – global military emissions, military spending, UN processes and wider foreign and defence policy impacts. 

We now flow our Palestine and MLK work also through this climate change lens. Tipping Point supported films We Are Many and Open Bethlehem also remain an ongoing part of our work as they continue to be screened around the world. While we continue to work with film as a tool for change and we intend to return to developing more in-house film projects – our priority work for the foreseeable future – will focus on climate change related work.

One last word: TPNS was launched with generous support from The Co-operative Bank and it is constituted as a ‘mutual’ – a non profit co-op. We are not a charity and donations are not be tax-deductible. Sorry. We are, however, CAF registered. Please do reach out if this is a route you would prefer.
